Anyone else love a Big Mac? Come on… don’t be shy! I don’t know what it is about 2 all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun that gets my tastebuds all atwitter… but a Big Mac was always my favorite McDonald’s go to before I had to deal with gluten and dairy allergies. So hallelujah for this recipe that gives me the flavor without the gluten or the fat a** to go along with eating it. You can add the dairy if you so choose, or keep it out!
INGREDIENTS:
1.5 lb lean ground turkey or beef
1/2 tsp each onion & garlic powder
8 Cups of romaine lettuce
Thousand Island Dressing
4 pickles spears chopped
1/2 cup red onion diced
1 cup tomatoes chopped
1 cup shredded cheese of choice (if desired)
Salt and Pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS:
Brown ground meat until cooked through
Add onion & garlic powder while cooking meat
Chop romaine lettuce and set aside
Chop tomatoes, pickles ,and red onions and set aside
Pour 4 Tbsp of dressing into a small bowl and mix with 2 Tbsp of water; mix well
Mix all ingredients together with the dressing until evenly coated
Add salt and pepper to taste
Divide into 4 servings and top with cheese (if desired)
Makes 4 servings
